Snow Already! Stay Active and Warm with a Treadmill Desk

Did you wake up to a winter wonderland this morning? Or at least some cold temps?

We had some frost on the pumpkin this morning, and it made us glad to have our treadmill desks to jump on!

Winter started early for many parts of the U.S. today, including Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. And that snow on the ground and cold temperatures are just the beginning of that time of year when it’s easier to stay inside.

For many folks, activity levels drop off in the winter. The excuses for not being active are easier to come by - whether it’s not having the right clothes, getting dark too early, or just wanting to stay wrapped in a blanket on the couch.

With a treadmill desk or standing desk, you can eliminate one excuse - that you don’t have time to be active while you work. Increase the number of steps you take each day without leaving the comfort of the indoors by using a treadmill desk!

You may have heard that it is recommended we walk 10,000 steps per day. That is about the equivalent of five miles. The average person walks 2,000 to 3,000 steps per day. In the winter that number can drop even lower. With a treadmill desk though you can easily put in a half mile in half an hour. That adds up each day and then over each month.

An added bonus of a treadmill desk that we heard recently: keeping warm when the boss keeps the heat on low!

Do you just use a standing desk, like the Rebel Crank-Up 1000? This also will keep the blood flowing and your muscles engaged in a way that definitely does not happen when you’re sitting in a chair.

So don’t let the cold keep you down!
