Using FSA Money to Get a Treadmill Desk

We discuss treadmill desk health benefits on our blog and social media posts often, but today we want to talk about a recent helpful discovery that could benefit our Rebel Desk users.

Treadmill desks are being accepted as eligible items to use towards your yearly Flexible Spending Account or FSA. What this means is that the U.S. government agrees that treadmill desks are beneficial to your health as well!

The folks here discovered how they were able to use their FSA towards a purchase of a treadmill desk.

The first question some might ask is— what is an FSA? You might see FSA eligible items on your drugstore receipts. With a Flexible Spending Account, you could set back up to $2,500 tax -free out of your paycheck to use towards doctors, dentists, eyeglasses, prescription co-pays and more.

In the case of one treadmill desk user, they were able to use their Flexible Spending Account towards the purchase of a treadmill desk as they are Type 1 insulin-dependent diabetic. A doctors note, and a quick call to an FSA administrator confirmed the allowance.

Do you suffer from serious back pain, a history of blood clots, or another ailment that is exacerbated by a sedentary lifestyle? Check your FSA to see if you qualify in purchasing a Rebel Treadmill 1000!
